Automated compact pallet storage system that uses an automatic Pallet Shuttle, or electric cart, and automatic lifting systems to increase warehouse capacity and productivity.
In this storage solution, forklifts are replaced by stacker cranes or elevadors that carry the Pallet Shuttle and the load in their cradle.
The cart is inserted into the storage channels and positions each of the pallets in the deepest free space.
All this is done following the orders issued by the warehouse management software.
In short, the automatic Pallet Shuttle is the result of merging the optimization of storage capacity of compact systems, with the reduction of the times used in each operation typical of automatic systems. More In/Outs per hour.
Increase in productivity. Elimination of errors. Permanent inventory. Machines that can reach 40 meters in height and operate in aisles as narrow as 1.50 meters wide, creating warehouses with high load capacity for pallets, boxes or long materials like bars and profiles.
They are machines designed for travelling along the aisles of the warehouse, where they enter, position and extract materials.
Stacker cranes are guided by a management software system, which coordinates all the activities.
The range of stacker cranes adapts easily to the needs of each warehouse in terms of load capacity, dimensions, building height and cycle times, and so is able to cover a huge range of applications.
Automated guided vehicles are a common solution for automating the movement of goods between different areas of the warehouse.
They move without a driver and use different systems to know the routes they should follow. In the logistics sector, these vehicles are used to replace manual handling equipment, streamlining the flow of goods with constant and repetitive movements.
AGVs move around the warehouse thanks to the combination of a sensor-guided system and proprietary software, which can be integrated into a warehouse control system (WCS) or a warehouse management software (WMS).
The transport system always moves along a predetermined route and at a controlled speed. However, these machines usually have additional components to ensure the integrity of the operators, the goods, and the vehicle itself.
Automated guided vehicles come in multiple forms. These are the main ones:
Unit load vehicles: automatic transport systems prepared to carry a single unit per trip (pallets, coils, boxes, containers or other loose units).
Forklifts: transport solutions similar to a forklift and moving one or more pallets. These automated forklifts are equipped with sensors on the forks to ensure safe loading and unloading of goods.
Tugger trains: vehicles whose function is to move other non-motorized systems such as, for example, trailers of a train. This solution is configured with elevated platforms, motorized rollers, or a system of trolleys that facilitate the loading and unloading of goods in the tugger.
